Uploading a video

Which files work, how big they can be on each plan, and why Everpop needs the file itself.

Which files work

Upload the video file itself: MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV or M4V. Everpop needs the picture as well as the sound, so audio-only files (MP3, WAV, M4A) are not accepted.

Plans count videos, not minutes: a two-hour episode is one video off your monthly allowance.

How big a file can be

The limit is per file and depends on your plan:

  • Free (your first video): files up to 4 GB
  • Starter: files up to 8 GB
  • Pro: files up to 32 GB
  • Scale: files up to 32 GB

Through the API (Pro and Scale), one upload request carries up to 5 GB; upload a larger file in the browser.

Three ways in

  • Upload the file in your Studio. Keep the tab open until the upload finishes: a big file goes up in parts, and a part that fails is retried while the tab stays open, but closing or reloading the tab cancels the upload.
  • On a paid plan, link a Google Drive folder. Everpop picks up the videos you drop in it, and a Drive transfer carries on even if you close the tab.
  • On Pro and Scale, send files through the API or an AI agent. The For AI agents page explains how.

Your YouTube channel

Connect your YouTube channel and Everpop checks it for new uploads at least daily and emails you to upload the file. Everpop never downloads your videos from YouTube, so a pasted YouTube link won't work: upload the same file you uploaded there.

No file handy? YouTube Studio lets you download your own uploads, but Studio's copy is 720p at most, so your original export looks better.

Very short and very long videos

Everpop is made for videos of two minutes or more, where there are real moments to find. A video under 20 seconds becomes a single vertical Short instead of being clipped.

Long videos take longer: once clipping starts, a 2-hour episode can take about an hour. Past 2 hours a render can run past our time limit — if yours does, trim it to the part you want.
